Egypt Time, GMT +2: 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
The energy sector is experiencing first truly global energy crisis. Concerns about energy prices and affordability dominate all policy discussions. Even in these challenging times, interest in carbon pricing and Article 6 of the Paris agreement remains high. Carbon pricing, including Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, can be a key element within broader climate and energy policy instruments to help foster the clean energy transitions. International cooperation is a top priority to ensure that countries meet the global net zero goal by mid-century.
In this side event, high-level representatives and technical experts from the Republic of Korea, the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will convene a discussion with carbon markets and Article 6 experts on the current state and trends of clean energy transitions, and what role of domestic carbon markets and Article 6 could play to accelerate the transitions.
