Moscow builders are not afraid of even the most severe bad weather. They are hardened at the leading construction sites of the capital. This was proven by members of Moscow trade unions who, despite the rain, gathered on the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic complex for the XXXIV Spartakiad on the eve of their main professional holiday.
More than 4 thousand people took to the sports fields on the morning of August 12 to prove that their company employs the strongest, most dexterous and fastest specialists.
– We not only know how to build, but also how to lead a correct lifestyle; we are an example for everyone. We are tough builders, tough athletes, and therefore we achieve high results,” said Rafik Zagrutdinov, head of the Moscow Department of Construction, at the grand opening of the sports competition.
After the parade, the holiday program continued with family relay races, competitions in athletics, tug-of-war, weight lifting, arm wrestling, mini-football, volleyball and darts.
Mosmetrostroyevites took part in almost all competitions. They performed most brightly in running - Alexander Yastrebtsev from TO-6 ran 100 meters in 11.46 seconds, taking first place, and in the long jump, Vasily Gurkin from SMU-6 took first place.
Guests and fans remembered the tug-of-war team from SMU-25.
– Where do you get such heroes? – asked surprised spectators from other companies, seeing how easily the Metrostroy team could cope with the enemy.
“From the slaughter,” the fans who came to support the guys answered proudly.
It was only a little short of winning the prize. In the fight for reaching the quarterfinals, the whistle did not sound when the heart was already celebrating victory: the blue mark on the rope crossed the required threshold and both teams threw the rope. The judge's verdict is like a sentence - you need to replay the round. And victory again. But there was not enough strength to go further. The Metrostroevsky heroes could not stand up to a fresh and rested team and ultimately took fourth place.
The metro builders discussed the stormy emotions from victories and defeats at their tent over the already traditional pies and a cup of hot tea, so necessary on this rainy day.
The winners and prize-winners of the sports festival in the individual competition were awarded medals and prizes, and the best in the team competition were awarded cups and certificates. Young participants in family relay races received memorable gifts.
