Oh, Metrostroy, you are peace, you are work, you are sport.
Whatever you do is top notch!

Autumn showered gold on the children's camp in Balabanovo. Nature became quiet and even mushrooms came out of the ground to cheer on the most athletic metro builders.

Friendly columns of teams from Moscow Metrostroy organizations cheerfully came out to the already traditional autumn sports festival - the IV Spartakiad of Mosmetrostroy workers. Participants in red, blue, beige, green uniforms painted the territory of the “Young Metro Builder” in a variety of colors, and the general director of Mosmetrostroy JSC Sergei Zhukov and his deputy Vasily Lomakin, who celebrated his birthday on this active Saturday, September 16, took part in the opening ceremony.

“The camp and I were preparing for this sports contest. Everywhere is clean and orderly. Construction of a new club has begun. We did everything to ensure that you showed high achievements in fair sports competition,” said Vasily Lomakin.

The right to raise the flag for the Metrostroy anthem went to the leading design engineer of the Inzhproekt Institute Andrey Ryabchenko. A runner and long-distance skier, he often represents our company at many Moscow competitions.

Sergei Anatolyevich declared the Spartakiad open, and the participants dispersed to their locations. There were 12 disciplines in total: mini-football, volleyball, tug-of-war, athletics, standing jumping, basketball competition, sprint, darts, chess, kettlebell lifting, medicine ball throwing, air rifle shooting and family relay races.

Many of those who came regularly participate and win competitions. So, in tug of war, the SMU-25 team has no equal. They have repeatedly won prizes not only among metro builders, but also at a higher level. Men take preparation responsibly and seriously.

– Each of the team members and support group are well done. “I am very glad that I had the opportunity to participate in competitions with such wonderful people who respect sports,” said team captain, deputy chief engineer of SMU-25 Alexey Kuzmin.

The hottest battle of the day can rightfully be called the volleyball final. The teams of the Department and Tunnel Squad-6 competed for first place. Every hit on the ball thundered across the hall. Nobody wanted to give in.

The screams of the spectators were drowned out by the athletes. Sergey Zhukov, Mikhail Arbuzov, Mikhail Belenky, Oksana Menshina, Alexander Ivanov and many others actively supported the players from the stands. – We left all the emotions on the site. The opposing team is good, well-coordinated: either they will take the lead, or we will. We fought for every ball,” the captain of the winning team, deputy head of the Department of Electromechanical Devices of Mosmetrostroy, Alexander Lebedev, shared his emotions. “The main thing is that we couldn’t lose in front of the management.”

In the overall team competition, the workers of Tunnel-2001 won, second place went to SMU-8, third place to SMU-6. In fact, each participant in the Spartakiad won, having breathed in the warm autumn air, rested with their family and colleagues, and been charged with positivity, energy and strength to once again conquer the underground depths.
