On December 2, the annual Mosmetrostroy team championship in table tennis took place - one of the favorite sports in the company. Six teams took part in the competition: two each from SMU-25 and Stroymekhservis, one from the Inzhproekt Institute and one mixed team from USR and Tunnel-2001. Each contains two people, regardless of gender.
There was a serious fight for prizes. Tennis players played head-to-head matches with their opponents: the winner was the pair where both participants won. As the sports organizer of Mosmetrostroy Georgy Ilinykh noted, not a single match was held with an overwhelming advantage of one of the teams. Many games ended in a tie, so they were followed by spectacular doubles games.
It took two hours to determine the winners. Based on the results of the final matches, the places were distributed as follows: I – Andrey Ryabchenko and Evgeny Oskin, Inzhproekt Institute; II – Roman Zharkikh and Viktor Sokolov, Stroymekhservice; III – Dmitry Slepokurov and Maria Mikhailova, SMU-25.
– All tennis players showed a good level of play. Only strong teams participated in the tournament, there were no weak ones,” shared Georgy Ilinykh.
Let us note that a considerable part of metro construction workers are passionate about sports. For example, one of the leaders of the championship, leading engineer of the Inzhproekt Institute Andrey Ryabchenko, in addition to table tennis, is interested in skiing and running marathons, as well as historical dancing.
The tournament itself was not the first time that it was held at the TTLeader table tennis club. The organizer of the competition, the Metrostroy trade union, rented several tables in a separate area, and professional judges watched each match. In the spring, a personal championship in table tennis is expected - those who wish will have to pass a selection to get into the Mosmetrostroy team to participate in competitions among Moscow builders and the Spartakiad of the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions.
