Team Mosmetrostroy, consisting of about 200 people, took part in the XXXV Spartakiad of Moscow Builders “StroySportFest”, dedicated to Builder’s Day. The traditional sports festival in Luzhniki was organized by the city's urban planning complex and the Moscow Builders' Trade Union.
As the sports organizer of the Terkom of Trade Unions of Mosmetrostroy workers, Georgy Ilyinykh, told a Metrostroevets correspondent, our athletes took part in competitions in athletics, volleyball, football, tug-of-war, table tennis, darts, badminton, family competitions and other activities. Many came to the sports festival with their families: some as participants, and others to cheer for their own.
Ekaterina Shuba from the Inzhproekt Institute came to the Spartakiad with her husband and two children. They took part in family competitions, and Ekaterina took part in the 400-meter race.
“We have been participating in the “Starts of Young Metro Builders” for the fourth year in a row, and for the first time at the Builders Spartakiad,” said Ekaterina. – The main thing for us is participation in competitions. It gives us a positive charge of emotions, supports the sports spirit and, of course, it is a great time to have fun with the family.
The real hero of the competition was Alexander Yastrebtsev, a mining engineer-surveyor of the Tunnel Squad-6 of Metrostroy. The 24-year-old builder won two golds at once - in the 100 and 400 meters.
Alexander chose the profession of metro builder while still in school. I studied in the direction of “Mining” to become a surveyor. He completed his internship at TO-6, where he remained to work after graduating from university. Today Yastrebtsev is working on the construction of an interchange between the Elektrozavodskaya stations of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya and Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya lines.
– I have been playing basketball for fifteen years, and recently I became interested in athletics. Two years ago he already won the 100-meter dash at Luzhniki with a result of 11.44 seconds. This time he won again and improved his result - 10.72 seconds, noted the winner.
Alexander brought the second gold to Mosmetrostroy in the 400 meters with a result of 49.87 seconds. He competed at this distance for the first time and immediately won.
Mosmetrostroy Libero
The Mosmetrostroy volleyball team also performed well and entered the top four teams. A total of 31 teams participated in the tournament. A tangible contribution to success was made by the Deputy General Director of Mosmetrostroy, Stanislav Chernyshev, the libero of our volleyball squad.
Stanislav Viktorovich played volleyball professionally in his youth. He is the team's most loyal player, having been with it since its formation.
– Libero is a special player in the team who performs only defensive functions. His main task is to receive the opponent’s attacking blows, select rebounds from the block and resets. The libero can replace any back row player on the court. We can say that this is the player who pulls the whole team, and Stanislav Chernyshev copes with his task perfectly,” noted the other members of the volleyball team.
