The competition took place at the “Young Metrostroyevets” children's health camp in Balabanovo, Kaluga region and brought together about 500 amateur athletes.
“We gathered for the fifth time at the Mosmetrostroy Spartakiad. Its holding is primarily connected with the fact that the participants unite not only in sports battles, but also become even more united in the collective spirit. I would like to wish everyone bright victories and always remember our motto: the main thing is not victory, but participation,” said Sergei Zhukov, General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC.
This year, 14 Metrostroy teams took part in the sports competition: Mosmetrostroy Management, SMU-1, SMU-6, SMU-8, SMU-12, SMU-24, TSK, UMM, Tunnel Squad-6, Stroymekhservice, Tunnel-2001, MMS International, USR and KSUM.

On the same day, an unusual monument was opened on the territory of the children's camp - the Claudius tunnel-boring shield.
“The first TBM in our country has been preserved for history. Restored and solemn, as before the start, it is installed on a pedestal on the territory of the “Young Metrostroyevets” children’s health camp in Balabanovo,” noted Sergei Zhukov.
The “Claudia” shield, named after the wife of former general director of Mosmetrostroy Yuri Koshelev, helped metro builders navigate 12 tunnels.
The general director of Lovat, the manufacturer of TBMs, Rick Lovat sent a letter to Mosmetrostroy, noting the close long-term cooperation and adding that this is the world’s first monument to a specific tunneling shield.
