On Saturday, July 1, 2017, an excursion for young specialists from the Moscow construction complex took place to the Okruzhnaya station of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line of the capital’s metro. “Okruzhnaya” will become part of a large transport hub, which will include the station of the same name on the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), the platform of the Savyolovsky direction of the Moscow Railway and a ground transport stop.

There were a lot of people who wanted to see with their own eyes how a deep-seated facility was being constructed, so we had to divide them into groups. In total, 55 specialists from 19 organizations took part in the excursion that day.

The main construction contractor is TO-6 Metrostroy LLC, the tour was conducted by site manager Evgeniy Korobov.

Before descending into the mine, the participants received special clothing and received safety instructions. In a matter of minutes, the excursion group found itself at a depth of 65 meters in the mine yard of mine No. 957. Ahead of them lay a complex system of approach workings, which distinguishes Okruzhnaya from other deep stations.

To date, the stage and station tunnels have been fully constructed, which allowed participants to walk through all the “labyrinths” of the metro, including technical rooms that will remain hidden from the eyes of passengers after the launch. The head of the site explained in detail how labor-intensive the construction of objects at great depths is, and what difficulties metro builders have to face every day.

On behalf of the participants and on my own behalf, I thank the management of Mosmetrostroy JSC and TO-6 Metrostroy LLC for the opportunity to conduct the excursion.

Chairman of the Council of Young Professionals
