The bright end of the summer season was a large-scale sports festival - the final of the Workers' Spartakiad among member organizations of the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions. The Mosmetrostroy team, a traditional participant in the competition, showed its best result this time.
The final stage took place on August 29 at the Moscow State Technical University. N. E. Bauman. Of the two thousand participants in the qualifying rounds, about a thousand of the strongest athletes reached the finals, and sunny weather and a festive atmosphere set the tone for the entire event.
The competition program was intense: athletics, kettlebell lifting, tug-of-war, chess, darts, 3x3 basketball, mini-football, volleyball, table tennis and family competitions. The grand opening began with the introduction of the teams. They noted the high level of training of the athletes and the fact that the most active and purposeful reached the finals, and also wished the teams bright starts and beautiful victories. A struggle for leadership unfolded on the sites. Participants in family competitions demonstrated cohesion and team spirit, track and field athletes demonstrated speed, and weight lifters demonstrated impressive strength. A particular intensity of passion was observed in the tug-of-war, where the teams showed not only physical strength, but also the ability to work as a single mechanism. At the same time, tournaments were held in chess and darts, and at separate sites in basketball, mini-football, volleyball and table tennis.
