Employees of Moscow Metro Construction organizations took part in the final competitions of the Spartakiad of the Moscow Construction Complex.
Thanks to last year's result - 3rd place in the team competition, the metro construction workers marched at the beginning of the ceremonial march parade. Bright costumes, flags, streamers, balloons and loud chants - all this immediately distinguished the team when entering the stadium tracks.
Numerous columns of participants were greeted by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Marat Khusnullin, Acting Head of the Moscow Department of Sports and Tourism Alexey Kondarantsev and Chairman of the Moscow Builders Trade Union Valery Laptev.
After the official opening of the competition, the athletes were distributed on the territory of the Northern Sports Core in various sports: athletics, mini-football, volleyball, rope, kettlebell, arm wrestling and darts.
The most successful discipline for metro construction workers was athletics. Athletes had a wide choice of distances: 100, 400, 800 and 1500 meters, 4x100 relay races for women and men, as well as family starts (100x60x40). As a result, three prizes: Tatyana Atmacheva took 2nd place at 800m, Ulyana Sedlova came 3rd at 400m and Alexey Lapach took 2nd at 1500m.
The volleyball team consistently made it into the top 8 teams, losing in the second match to the future champions of the tournament - the Construction Department.
In other types of the program, good results were achieved, allowing Mosmetrostroy to take the final 4th place among 32 sports teams.
