On January 25, 2018, the annual meeting of veterans of the Moscow Metro Construction took place. Getting together at the beginning of the year has become a good tradition for metro builders, which has not been interrupted for several decades.
This year, 85 people gathered to chat, remember history, feel the continuity and connection of generations, including Labor Veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War, former leaders of Mosmetrostroy - directors, chief engineers, SMU foremen and workers, all of whom built the Moscow metro.
A large concert program and banquet were prepared for the veterans.
The General Director of the Mosmetrostroy JSC group of companies, Sergey Anatolyevich Zhukov, in his welcoming speech thanked all those present for their labor merits and contribution to the common cause of metro construction, spoke about the plans for the development of the capital’s metro and the prospects of Mosmetrostroy.
The chairman of the Terkom of Trade Unions of Mosmetrostroy Steshenko Sergey Grigorievich, the chairman of the Council of Veterans of Mosmetrostroy Prigoda Boris Filippovich and his deputy Adadurov Anatoly Nikolaevich also addressed the veterans from the stage.
The official part ended with a concert prepared by students of the ANO “WORLD OF CHILDHOOD”. Young talents delighted the veterans with poems, songs and dances.
That evening, poems were also sung by veterans. Everyone was deeply touched by the lines about the war years at the metro construction site of Felix Avnerovich Ochildeev. All significant milestones in the history of Mosmetrostroy from the 40s and post-war years to the thaw and perestroika were reflected in the speeches and memories of the working days of G.A. Elizarova, G.V. Makarevich, I.I. Buchinsky and other veteran metro builders.
Old popular songs “There is only a moment”, “Believe in a dream”, “42 minutes underground”, “Where the maple rustles”, “Darkie” performed by Anton Sidorenkov were performed for the guests. With pleasure, the veterans sang along with the button accordion with Nikolai Azartsev and their other favorite songs. Concert numbers alternated with short blitz questions about the Moscow metro and the presentation of prizes for the correct answer.
