25 February, the Mosmetrostroy national team took part and became the winner of the XX mini-football tournament dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Russians who performed their official duties outside the Fatherland. The games were held by the regional public organization Moscow football and sports club of veterans of the war in Afghanistan and participants in local military conflicts “Veteran-Sport” with the support of Moskomsport on the basis of the CSKA sports arena.
– Nowadays, sport has acquired such social significance that by participating in any tournament or competition, you can attract attention or express support no less than by declaring it from the podium, says the Chairman of the Sports Club Metrostroy Alexey Alexandrov and adds that in the Moscow Metrostroy they respect those who served outside our Motherland, there are public organizations “Afghan-Metrostroy” and “Memory of Metrostroy”, so the participation of our football players and the victory is a contribution to ensuring that military and labor feats are not forgotten.
