9 May Chairman of the Territorial Committee of the Moscow Metro Construction Trade Union S.G. Steshenko, as part of the Russian delegation, took part in the solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator in theBulgarian city of Plovdiv on Bunardzhik Hill. For many Russians, this place is known as the “Hill of Liberators,” on which stands “Alyosha, a Russian soldier in Bulgaria.” On this day, hundreds of citizens, diplomats, politicians, and public figures from Russia and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States came to the monument for a solemn meeting.
