Metrobuilders again took part in the annual Spartakiad of workers. The Moscow Federation of Trade Unions (MFP) held competitions between teams on May 18. This time, the sports competition brought the company several gold medals at once.

More than 400 teams gathered for the competition this year. The venue was the Iskra educational and sports complex, already familiar from the sports days of past years. Employees of capital companies competed in volleyball, mini-football and table tennis, measured their strength in tug-of-war, darts and weight lifting, and took part in track and field and family relay races.
At the same time, a solemn parade took place. Metro builders also marched in a column of more than three thousand people with flags and banners. Support groups and sports veterans joined the procession of athletes.
The Moscow Metro Construction Trade Union was represented by 65 workers. The company's employees did not reach the podium, but still performed at a high level - they took fourth place. The results were included in the standings of the 30th Builders' Spartakiad. Among them, the metro builders got bronze.
The team of our tennis players especially distinguished themselves. Alexander Gribanov, Viktor Sokolov and Sergey Strelnikov took first place among the representatives of the Construction Complex.
Our volleyball players with captain Alexander Lebedev also won gold from other construction organizations. The honor of Mosmetrostroy was defended on the field by Stanislav Chernyshev, Ivan Momot, Pavel Zamuravkin, Vadim Selin, Sergey Milovanov, Ilya Andreev, Alexey Lyubimov and Ruslan Zinnurov.
Metrobuilders also showed decent results in the family relay race, becoming third among the builders. The Volkovs, Derveshevs, Ermoshins, Kozlovs, Kashins and Sharokhins played for the company. All the little athletes received sweet prizes for their participation.
In addition, our football players won silver medals at the Builders' Spartakiad on June 1. 18 teams took part in the mini-football championship at the stadium of the MBA sports school. In the final, the metro builders lost only one goal in the penalty shootout.
