The traditional swim of metro athletes as part of the 2019 Spartakiad took place on October 27 in the swimming pool of Moscow State Technical University. Bauman.
Last year's champions also decided to support the tradition: the names of the winners are the same! Among the men, the fastest was surveyor Nikita Shevchenko from TUNNEL-2001, and among the women, Lidiya Tudorovich, UMM, was the first to finish.
Colleagues from SMU-6 - Nadezhda Navrotskaya and Maria Goncharova - arrived together, started in the same heat and also climbed to the podium together. Nadezhda received a silver medal, Maria - bronze.
And among the men, the struggle for leadership was almost Olympic-like: the first five results are within 1 second of each other! Silver medalist Tyurin Dmitry, “TUNNEL-2001”, ran to the Sports Complex straight from work (fortunately, the Lefortovo station under construction is a stone’s throw away) and then returned to his workplace. And the day before, he defended the honor of Metrostroy as part of the football team at the Friendship Cup between labor collectives in St. Petersburg. What an all-around!
Konstantin Shabalin, TO-6, made it to the competition right from the start: he came, he saw, he won - he took an honorable third place.
9 teams of Mosmetrostroy JSC took part in the Championship. The team competition was formed based on the results of the 3 best athletes. TUNNEL 2001, having personal gold and silver in its treasury, of course, took first place. TO-6 – second place and UMM – third. But SMU-24 was unlucky today - only 1 second separates them from the prize podium! Let this not be a reason for grief, but a reason to mobilize all your strength and win next time.
A separate medal was awarded to the participation of a veteran of the Mosmetrostroy Sports Movement in the swim. Valery Kahutin participated in swimming, athletics, and skiing competitions for many years.
And for family members of metro construction workers, the reward was the opportunity not only to cheer for their favorite athletes, but also to swim themselves. An hour and a half of “free water”, as well as a tea party with lush pies, was provided to the event participants by the Terek Committee of the Trade Union of Workers of JSC Mosmetrostroy.
