The national football team of JSC Mosmetrostroy won the Cup of Friendship of Work Collectives, held on October 24-26 in St. Petersburg. The trade union organization of St. Petersburg Metrostroy invited us as “clubmates” to a friendly tournament taking place on their site. Chairman of the Trade Union Terkom S.G. Steshenko personally led the delegation of our football players.
So, a team of 9 people set off to conquer the northern capital. The union, realizing that the guys after a week of work needed to rest before the game, took care of travel and accommodation. We arrived in comfort on the Sapsan and stayed at the Kievskaya Hotel.
According to the tournament schedule, we had to play 2 matches in one day: with a team of cultural figures and with the hosts - the team of St. Petersburg Metrostroy. A confident victory in both meetings (scores 4:1 and 4:3) provided our players with first place in the tournament, the Friendship Cup and a ball autographed by St. Petersburg artists.
You can go home with such trophies, but... it would be strange to see St. Petersburg only from the station to the stadium! Therefore, after the game, the entire team of Muscovites went on an excursion to see the sights of the cultural capital of the country.
So the trip turned out to be eventful and varied. The Metrostroy trade unions of the two capitals are deciding whether to also hold a spring meeting, because there are so many sports that have not received attention. And the cultural fund of Moscow and St. Petersburg is completely limitless...
And we hope that everything will work out and our cooperation will be long and successful!
