In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to chess in the country. Programs are being created to educate the culture of chess, starting from childhood. Friendly tournaments are taking place. Trade unions also do not stand aside from this movement: competitions are held in work collectives. On the eve of the annual Mosinzhproject Chess Cup among builders, the best chess players of Mosmetrostroy held a training tournament.
In addition to the game itself, the regulations and rules of the upcoming Cup were discussed, and the technique of using electronic chess clocks with a 5+3 time format was worked out. (Each player has 5 minutes of total time, and each move made adds another 3 seconds.) This format of the game became possible only with the advent of new modern watch models, which are now available to metro builders.
The winners of the championship were recognized leaders: first place – Egor Shapiro, UMM; second place - Enikeev Aidar, SMU-12; Dzhuspekov Sultan, StroyMekhServis.
