The competition with the symbolic name “Friendship” took place on October 25 at the Metrostroy stadium on Levashovsky Avenue in St. Petersburg. The Mosmetrostroy team of eight players was accompanied by the Chairman of the Trade Union Tercom, Sergei Steshenko.

We played with our St. Petersburg colleagues - football players from OJSC Metrostroy, as well as with the team of the St. Petersburg Theater League. The Mosmetrostroy football players won on a foreign field, without time to prepare.

The first match took place with theatergoers. The team was represented by artists from five theaters: Comedy, Tsekh, Mariinsky, Youth Theater and the Entreprise Theater. A. Mironova.

- Just not in the face! We're going on stage tonight! - the theater workers joked. At the same time they played at the highest level. They are coached by former professional football player Dmitry Korelov. The team is a permanent gaming partner of St. Petersburg Metrostroy. The meeting ended with a score of 1:4 in our favor.

The second match was also tense. St. Petersburg metro builders turned out to be strong players. In a fierce battle, we came first with a score of 3:4.

The game was judged by Russian Mini-Football Association inspector Dmitry Shtreis.

At the end of the competition, the teams exchanged gifts. From Mosmetrostroy, colleagues from St. Petersburg were presented with the book “Front and Rear”. One of its chapters is dedicated to the first head of the Leningrad Metrostroy, Ivan Zubkov.

The Moscow guests also did not leave empty-handed. They brought to the capital the “Friendship Cup” and a ball signed by the team of the St. Petersburg Theater League.

The tournament was organized by the Terkom of the trade union of the capital and St. Petersburg Metrostroy. It became a revival of the good old traditions that existed between the metro builders of the two cities in the 50-60s of the last century.
