The table tennis championship as part of the Mosmetrostroy Spartakiad is held annually. But this year there was more interest in him than usual. A week before the appointed date, the number of applications almost doubled! The fact is that they decided not to limit the number of participants from one team. Therefore, for example, Metrogiprotrans put up 2 teams, and KSUM and UMM even 3 each.

To hold the tennis tournament, the Terkom of the trade union selected, and Mosmetrostroy paid for the rent of a specialized tennis hall in the TTLeader club, so there was no doubt whether everyone would be accommodated.
According to the conditions, the tennis players played 2 personal matches, and in case of a 1:1 score, a doubles match was added. The athletes from TO-6 went through all 3 games in the subgroup and the quarterfinals like this! Perseverance worthy of respect!
An hour later, the leaders of four subgroups were determined: TO-6, SMU-1, SMU-12, SMU-24, Metrogiprotrans and all three UMM teams. They formed the quarterfinal pairs. Then, TO-6 (Evgeny Bachurin and Konstantin Shabalin), SMU-12 (Oleg Reshetov and Artem Shevtsov) and twice UMM (Sergey Strelnikov, Alexander Gribanov, Viktor Sokolov, Dmitry Persheev) reached the semi-finals.
Jokes and questions were immediately heard: what if UMM gets into UMM by lot? Will he play? Or will they agree? “We’ll just shake hands!” - Yu.A laughed. Menshin (deputy general director of UMM, tournament participant). But sports fortune had its own way, and the “teammates” did not meet in the semifinals. But the outcome of the final of UMM-1 versus UMM-2 was predetermined: friendship won!

But the Spartakiad standings are formed by teams, therefore: UMM are the winners of the championship, silver medalists are SMU-12, and bronze is TO-6. Everyone was awarded personal and team medals, and the winners were given a Cup. Moreover, the owners - the TTLeader club - presented each winning team with certificates for free participation in the tournament on their site.
Apparently, next year there will be even more participants!
