2020 in Russia has been declared a year of memory and glory in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The further in history severe battles remain and the fewer heroes of the Victory remain alive, the more precious the memory of them becomes.
From year to year, the leadership of the Moscow Metrostroy honors the great feat of veterans and provides them with support. Preserving the historical continuity of generations, nurturing patriotism, caring attitude towards the past and present is the responsibility of the younger generation, our responsibility. Unfortunately, due to the current global pandemic, ceremonial events dedicated to the anniversary of the Great Victory have been cancelled. In this regard, the leadership of the Moscow Metrostroy decided to organize the delivery of food packages, memorable gifts and financial assistance to 63 veterans. On the eve of the holiday, volunteers from among the activists of the Council of Young Professionals of Mosmetrostroy organizations - Anton Bogdanov (SMU-1), Nikita Shevchenko (Tunnel-2001) and Tatyana Nardysheva (SMU-25) took part in targeted assistance and congratulations. A special gift was the “75th Anniversary of the Great Victory” medal, specially prepared by the Terkom of the trade union of workers of Mosmetrostroy organizations, as well as a postcard with warm words and wishes from the General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC Sergei Zhukov.
In addition to congratulations, volunteers were able to communicate with veterans, hear stories of their life paths and memories of that difficult time.
