On July 18, the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions (MFTU) held a chess tournament dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The competition took place on the specialized platform chess.com. More than 70 players from 16 IFP affiliates took part in them.
Participants submitted applications for the online tournament in advance. On the appointed day, they entered the chat and joined the game. The rules were strict; players were disqualified if they were suspected of using computer assistance.
Third place in a bitter struggle was taken by Georgy Ilyinykh, sports organizer of the Terkom of the Moscow Metro Construction Trade Union.
