Our athletes took part in the qualifying stage of the Workers' Spartakiad of the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions (MFP). The competition took place on June 5 at the Znamensky Brothers Olympic Center.

They had to measure their strength in athletics, table tennis, chess, weight lifting, tug of war, and darts. The purpose of the tournaments is to select the 16 best teams.
This year, the IFP changed the rules of participation and prohibited the participation of single teams. Therefore, Mosmetrostroy was represented by 17 teams from eight subsidiaries. This did not stop the metro builders from proving themselves and reaching the next stage of competition in all sports.

Stroymekhservis, UMM, MMS International, KSUM, TO-6, SMU-1, Inzhproekt Institute and SMU-25 exhibited their athletes. The most teams were represented in darts and table tennis, four each from different SMUs. Each has three participants. The tug-of-war teams, of which we had two, consisted of eight athletes.
Excellent results were shown in athletics, where there were mixed relay races of men and women, as well as in kettlebell lifting.
The second stage of the Workers' Spartakiad will take place at the end of summer. It will determine the finalists, who will go to the All-Russian competition in Kaluga in September.
