"Seligerskaya" was surrounded by beauty

Soon Tunnel-2001 LLC will complete the improvement of the territories adjacent to the Seligerskaya station of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line. For the first time, such work is carried out by Mosmetrostroy itself. Participants in the large-scale project told how the space near the station was rapidly being updated and shared interesting figures.

For Mosmetrostroy, landscaping and infrastructure are a new direction. To master it, Tunnel-2001 had to assemble a team of specialists almost from scratch and carry out retraining, during which employees acquired additional specializations. And this was not the only difficulty for the organization.

The project had to be completed in a short time.

– Since landscaping is a seasonal work, it was necessary to artificially create an environment favorable for construction. Basically, we worked around the clock,” said Ilya Popkov, deputy chief engineer of Tunnel-2001 LLC.

The timely provision of mechanisms and materials was under the personal control of the director of the organization, Ilya Gevorgizov. He obliged all departments to give priority to this project in any matter.

Metro construction workers completed a tremendous amount of work. From scratch they made a backup along Dmitrovskoye Highway towards the city center. On the opposite side, the roadway was significantly expanded due to the construction of a bus lane. New asphalt concrete pavement was installed along the entire section of the highway where the work took place. In addition, the road markings were updated, new traffic lights, information signs and their supports were installed.

The pedestrian space was completely transformed. Its area has increased, new sidewalks have appeared. The adjacent areas have been covered with a lawn, on which trees, shrubs and flower beds adorn.

Modern curbstones and paving slabs are now pleasing to the eye at the metro exits. The asphalt surface near the Metrostroy Complex building has been renewed. The area between the lanes of Dmitrovskoe Highway has become a neat green boulevard. In addition, new ground public transport stops were located near the station.

The improvement project breathed life into Tumanyan Square, which changed beyond recognition. From an unsightly island between the Korovinskoye and Dmitrovskoye highways, it turned into a place for relaxation and walking with benches, a large flower garden and figured paving stones.

The improvement also included the relocation of cables and lighting, the installation of sewers, drains, and the renewal of the trolleybus contact network. Outwardly imperceptible, these changes are no less important: communications will reliably serve for many more years.

Now the surroundings of Seligerskaya have become not only an adornment of the northern outskirts of Moscow, but also an area with a much more convenient system of transport and pedestrian traffic.

– We are now putting the facility into operation. This is also a lot of work: you need to go through many checks. We are already receiving positive feedback from operating organizations,” said Roman Obukhov, deputy chief engineer of Tunnel-2001 LLC.
