Dead end tunnel behind Izmailovskaya

The first photo published in No. 174 of “Udarnik Metrostroy” dated 1946 captures the moment of construction of the dead-end tunnel of the Izmailovskaya station of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. The author of the photo, G. Terevyatnikov, caught the metro builders of Mine No. 33 at work under the leadership of Comrade Sturov. Photo No. 2 shows the same tunnels today. The author of the photo is Alexander Popov.

Since then, the station has changed its name several times. Since 1963 - “Izmailovsky Park”, and since 2005 - “Partizanskaya”.
