For three summer months, a cozy forest place in the Kaluga region, located near the Istya River, received schoolchildren after the school year. Over four shifts, 1,060 boys and girls aged 7 to 14 visited the updated camp.

“178 guys came to the first shift, 283 to the second, 297 to the third, and 302 to the fourth,” Leonid Podvoisky cited the data. – Among them are the children of Mosmetrostroy employees, schoolchildren from Moscow, Kaluga, Tula, Ryazan, and the Bryansk region.

Everything was prepared for the children in advance: the houses were renovated, a spacious dining room, rooms for clubs and sports were equipped.

“A special feature of this season was the requirement of Rospotrebnadzor that there should be no visits from parents or excursions in the places where children are staying,” added the director of the health camp. – Teachers and counselors have put together interesting entertainment and sports programs: competitions, laser tag, quests, creative evenings, discos and much more.

The selection of counselors was very strict. It was conducted at pedagogical institutes in Smolensk, Bryansk, Kaluga and Moscow among senior students. To the two counselors there was always one teacher with more than five years of experience in the school. In total, 99 people, along with service personnel, spent shifts with the guys over the summer.

Much attention was paid to five meals a day - they were chosen to be balanced and varied, taking into account afternoon snacks and healthy snacks. Local pastries, which were always in great demand, earned particular fame.

The season has ended, but work continues at the camp. Here, by the end of the year, additional furniture will be installed and a club will be completed, which will become a multifunctional platform for holding competitions and concerts, seminars and other events.

“We will also complete the construction of a street museum in which we will place various special equipment,” said Leonid Podvoisky. “It will be selected and painted at the Mosmetrostroy organizations, after which it will be delivered, and we will install it on site. They intend to do it in the fall and first spring months.

The management of the health camp is already negotiating with sports schools to make the next season even more interesting for the visiting children. 28 people will remain on duty in the camp during the cold season.
