Museum of technology was set up in the open air

The children's health camp "Young Metro Builder" received its first shifts of children. A surprise was prepared for their arrival - an open-air museum. DOL director Leonid Podvoisky spoke about the new season.

Our legendary camp in the Balabanovsky district of the Kaluga region has acquired its uniqueness. It is here that girls and boys will be able to touch the real history of metro construction.

Walking along the shady alleys of the camp will lead them to a real open-air museum. The trolleys, which for many years transported soil and rock from the underground kingdom, now serve as a visual aid for the children.

There are currently only five exhibits on display at the museum, which have taken their places on the narrow-gauge railway. In the future, the collection of equipment will expand.

Now, over the next four shifts, children will be told about what metro construction is, why new metro lines are being so actively built in big cities, and why metro builders have always commanded respect.

Children will be able to use exhibition models made in the form of tools and special equipment to try out the role of a builder of one of the most complex types of urban transport.

“In the first shift, we received 250 people - Muscovites, children of Mosmetrostroy employees and residents of other Russian regions,” noted Leonid Podvoisky. – We try to make children’s holidays interesting. We prepared carefully for the new season, we involved our construction and installation departments - TO-6, Tunnel-2001, SMU-8, Stroymekhservice and USR.

They brought the equipment back in winter. It was installed in several stages. First, soil and gravel were laid and the road was installed. In two weeks in the spring, everything was put on rails.

Tunnel 2001 employees landscaped the area around for the arrival of the first shift of children. A thousand square meters of paving stones were laid. We did it in a week together with the Stroymekhservice team. They installed a crane on the site and helped lay the street tiles. In addition, cosmetic repairs were made to several buildings of the camp.

Before the start of this season, the camp management spent a long time consulting with teachers, studying various methods of working with children, and how they live today. And much of this was introduced, including fashionable sports equipment - a treadmill, an elliptical and an exercise bike. The idea also arose to develop the name of the camp in themed games.

This season, schoolchildren vacationing in Balabanovo will play laser tag, go through exciting quests, try themselves in sports and creative games, go on various excursions, learn to dance and choose interest groups for themselves. This is a great way to socialize a child and a good alternative to the phone and video games.

Presumably, this year over a thousand boys and girls from all over the capital and nearby cities will have a rest. “Young Metro Builder” will run until September 30.

Today “Young Metro Builder” is a whole children’s town, consisting of nine two-story residential houses located in a forested area. The camp area exceeds 34 hectares, in addition to the residential sector, there is a canteen, a modern indoor gym, a medical building and its own small farm.

On the territory there are courts for playing volleyball and basketball, cozy corners for holding team events.

Children here receive five meals a day. The daily diet includes meat, fish, dairy dishes, our own fresh baked goods, fruits and vegetables, juices, and confectionery. A medical center is open 24/7.
