HELP
DOL "Young Metrobuilder" is located in an ecologically clean area of the Kaluga region, in a forest park area on an area of 34 hectares, not far from the Istya River. The recreation center includes two-story sleeping houses, a dining room, a staff building and a hotel, an indoor gym, comfortable rooms for clubs, and a medical block. There is a private farm with storage for vegetables, an aviary for birds and a stable.
On Children’s Day, the “Young Metro Builder” health camp in the Kaluga region received over 340 children from Moscow and Russian regions - participants in the first of four summer sessions.
Construction of the recreation center began back in 1944 on the territory of the Pobeda state farm, where the organization had a subsidiary farm. The first vacationers lived in wooden buildings and tents. Gradually the territory was improved, cottages and outbuildings were erected. Since 1970, the camp has become known as the “Young Metro Builder”. Today, the large-scale reconstruction of the Metrostroy health resort is almost complete. We carried out major repairs of all buildings, landscaped the territory, built treatment facilities, a boiler room, and updated communications.
– The main work was completed in the year of the 90th anniversary of the Moscow Metro - construction. Each organization contributed to the multi-generational restoration of the iconic site. It is noteworthy that all buildings are painted in Mosmetrostroy’s signature colors - burgundy and beige, and an installation of real cast-iron tubes is used in the design of the main entrance to the territory, said Sergei Zhukov, General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC.
The Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Mosmetrostroy Administration, Lidiya Arushanova, vacationed in the camp in the 1950s, starting at the age of nine.
– We had 25 squads, my brother played the trumpet in the music squad. Dunaevsky’s children’s ensemble, which vacationed with us, staged unforgettable concerts,” Lidia Gurgenovna told the Metrostroevets correspondent. “We lived in wooden dachas, had excellent food, and in the morning there was a lineup with forges and drums. Time flew by interestingly and cheerfully, and strong friendships were formed. The pioneer leaders were students of pedagogical universities and young people from our SMU.
All the children loved and knew the song by heart:
And we will never forget anywhere. We, guys, will remember forever: Our Balabanovo is Metrostroevsky Artek!
FORGET ABOUT GADGETS
This summer, four thematic sessions “METRO” and “PROcosmos” with interesting educational and entertainment programs have been prepared for schoolchildren. The kids will forget about gadgets; games, competitions, quests, impressions, communication with teachers and life experience await them.
Anastasia Marinova, an educational psychologist, a graduate of the Moscow University of Technology and Management, is responsible for the educational and entertainment program this year. Razumovsky.
– Our teaching staff includes over 30 people. These are graduates and students of pedagogical universities who have experience working with children. When developing the program, we tried to take into account the wishes of both the camp administration and parents and children,” notes Anastasia. – The main feature of the current summer shifts is media workshops. Children will learn what print and photojournalism is, who an SMM specialist and blogger is, will gain directing and camera work skills, and will even make a short squad film. Journalism teachers will teach the children; the equipment is available. And of course, we will try to spend more time in the fresh air - the nature around us inspires! The first days showed that the children make good contact, do not lag behind the counselors and sometimes do not have time to call home.
OPEN AIR MUSEUM
The open-air museum of special equipment is especially popular with children. This is the first museum of its kind in Russia. The narrow-gauge railway is equipped with various subway construction equipment, including trolleys that were used to transport soil and rocks during the construction of tunnels.

On the territory you can play football, play volleyball, basketball, and hold squad events. On Pushkin Alley with linden trees in restored wooden openwork gazebos, spaces for creativity have been created.
The legendary recreation center is planning an expansion. A multifunctional club for conferences, quests and sports competitions will be built here. It will be able to accommodate up to 400 people. The foundation has already been concreted and the building frame is being erected.
