As part of the anniversary events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of our company, the Council of War and Labor Veterans of Mosmetrostroy, together with the trade union committee of JSC KSUM, conducted a number of excursions, including to the Military Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation “Patriot”.
The initiator and organizer of the trip was the chairman of the trade union committee of KSUM JSC Valentina Kanishcheva. Employees and veterans of Mosmetrostroy went to the Odintsovo district to see the power and beauty of the new temple of the Armed Forces and the unusual exhibition of the Road of Memory museum, located in the park.
The eyes of the metro builders saw a grandiose temple made of glass and metal, personifying the victory of life over death and a museum complex of endless galleries hugging it in a semi-ring. Significant numbers and dates from the history of Russia are encrypted in the proportions of the structure.
The excursion participants walked together 1,418 steps of the galleries of the museum complex - that is how many days the Great Patriotic War lasted. A chronicle of every day passed before their eyes, from the Nazi attack on June 22, 1941 to the victorious May 9, 1941.
Between the galleries, excursion participants were immersed in key episodes of the war in immersion halls. We visited a trench, a bombed-out house, from the broken windows of which one could see an air attack by the Nazis, a dressing station, and the icy “Road of Life” leading to besieged Leningrad. We saw historical exhibits from the war, which became living evidence of the era. Among them are letters from soldiers, clothing, household items, and weapons.
After visiting the exhibition and the temple, the participants of the excursion were treated to a delicious dinner in the cafe of the museum complex and the road to Moscow.
The trip made a strong impression. It’s a pity that we weren’t able to visit everything during the excursion. The territory of Patriot Park includes a partisan village, an equestrian center and other facilities. It will take more than one day to see everything.
