With the support and participation of the management of Mosinzhproekt and Mosmetrostroy, on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, a solemn event took place in the assembly hall of the Administration on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, 17 - the first among those planned within the framework of the Year of Defender of the Fatherland.

With the participation of the Council of War and Labor Veterans of Mosmetrostroy, the RPO "Afghan-Metrostroy" invited to the gala evening veterans of the USSR Armed Forces, participants in the "Afghan" war of 1979–1989, local combat operations in Russia and abroad, participants in a special military operation (SVO) and members of their families, families of fallen military personnel, as well as representatives of public organizations and labor collectives of the Mosinzhproekt holding.

The evening was hosted by Marina Samsonova, a member of the board of the ANO Generation of Winners, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, a poet, publicist, and performer.

From the stage of the assembly hall, the participants of the gala event were greeted by the leaders of public organizations. Thus, the chairman of the Terkom of the trade union of Mosmetrostroy workers, Sergei Steshenko, assured that the military deeds of the metro workers will forever remain glorious pages in the history of our organization - the same as outstanding labor achievements.

Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Mosmetrostroy Boris Prigoda congratulated on Defender of the Fatherland Day and added that Mosmetrostroy is proud of the military merits of veterans of past wars and participants of the Northern Military District. Chairman of the RPO "Afghan-Metrostroy" Viktor Korduban congratulated the "Afghans" on the 36th anniversary of the withdrawal of a limited contingent of Soviet troops from Afghanistan and emphasized that the combat mission set by the country's leadership was worthily completed.

The commander of the “Memory of Metrostroy” search team, Sergei Kulikov, indicated in his speech that 2025 is the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. He recalled that for more than 45 years, the detachment has been searching for the remains of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, their reburial, construction of monuments and arrangement of burial sites. Thanks to participation in the search work, hundreds of boys found the right path in life and became true patriots.

The audience listened attentively to the heartfelt poems of a participant in the hostilities, a tunneler of the SMU-6 Metrostroy, and a poet Alexei Matveev. The speech of the chairman of the Moscow organization of families of fallen servicemen in local wars and military conflicts, Lyudmila Filyushina, left no one indifferent. She spoke about military duty, the inescapable pain of loss and preserving the bright memory of those who died for their Motherland. Her words found a deep response in the hearts of those present: under a metronome, they honored the memory of the warriors who had passed on to immortality with a minute of silence. Then, the mothers, widows and other family members of the fallen servicemen were presented with bouquets of flowers by students of the “Memory of Metrostroy” detachment and students of the RUT gymnasium (MIIT).

The creative teams prepared a concert program for veterans and guests. The following performances were excellent: the ensemble of drummers and soloists of the choral studio of the RUT gymnasium (MIIT), the choreographic group of preschoolers of the ANO "WORLD OF CHILDHOOD", the choreographic folk dance ensemble "Kudrinka". His return to the Metrostroy stage was warmly welcomed by the audience, who remember the numerous performances of these wonderful artists at the Metrostroy Palace of Culture. Our great friends, famous singer-songwriters of military-patriotic songs Mikhail Mikhailov, Sergei Kuznetsov, Yuri Epikhin, were also greeted with loud applause, who performed their favorite songs with great enthusiasm, and the famous “Afghan” veterans not only listened with pleasure, but also sang along with the authors.

The ceremonial event, meeting of combat veterans, and festive concert left the guests with the warmest impressions.
