The Lovat 242SE TBM with the name “Claudia” on June 23 completed the excavation of the left running tunnel from the Seligerskaya station to Lianozovo of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line of the Moscow metro, leaving behind 2.4 kilometers of finished work tunnel.
This is how the tunnel boring shield was greeted after the tenth, anniversary excavation
It took one of the long-lived main shields of the Moscow Metro Construction a year and 12 days to connect three stations at once with a tunnel - “Seligerskaya”, “800th Anniversary of Moscow Street” and “Lianozovo”.
The mechanized complex started in June 2019 from the dead ends behind the Seligerskaya station (site No. 30). The excavation was carried out at a depth of 14 to 26 meters. During this time, “Claudia” celebrated its 18th anniversary. Moreover, the first 129 linear meters were constructed in difficult geological conditions. On the way of “Claudia” there were karst voids, often stones and boulders. Crews removed them by hand.
To reduce the construction time for a section of the line, it was decided to run a “pilot tunnel” through the future station “Ulitsa 800 Letiya Moskvy”, without waiting for the soil of the station pit to be excavated. The TBM exited into a dismantling chamber located inside the pit of the Lianozovo station (site No. 36) in the area of the future vestibule No. 1.
“Within a year, “Clavdia” coped with the job,” noted Oleg Melnikov, Deputy General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC, adding that the shield received the 10th star on its metal side.
Within a month, “Klavdiya” will be dismantled and relocated again to site No. 30 behind the dead ends of the Seligerskaya station for excavation of the right running tunnel.
“The launch of Claudia is scheduled for September 1, two months will be required for installation and dismantling work and sanitization of the TBM,” said the company’s deputy general director. – It will take exactly a year to complete the right-hand distillation tunnel.
In parallel with the tunneling, work is underway at the station complexes. Thus, on the “800th Anniversary of Moscow Street” the contours of the pit have been completely drilled. From the second half of May, builders began to excavate the foundation pit. By the end of this year, more than 150 thousand cubic meters will have to be removed, ensuring the exit of the TBM of the right distillation tunnel along the chute of the station complex.
Another station on the site, Lianozovo, is located slightly away from the highways. But “Moscow 800th Anniversary Street” is in line with the highways - it is being built in the inter-highway space of roads to the region and to the city center. It, like Lianozovo, will have two lobbies, from which passengers will find themselves on opposite sides of the highway. Currently, a residential microdistrict is being built in this metropolitan area, and new residents of the Summer Garden will be comfortable using the new metro station.
At Lianozovo, as well as at the 800th Anniversary of Moscow Street, the contours of a pit 27 meters deep have been completely drilled. The excavation of soil and the installation of monolithic structures in vestibule No. 1 of this station have begun.
At the station complex, 115 thousand cubic meters of the planned 145 thousand were completed. In total, Lianozovo will have two lobbies, one of which will be closer to the railway platform of the same name.
In the future, in the area of the lobby No. 2 of the Lianozovo station there will be an installation chamber for the excavation of distillation tunnels to the Phystech station.
“Work at Phystech has not yet begun,” Oleg Melnikov clarified. – This is due to the fact that it took time to decide whether the station would be ground-based or underground. Initially, they wanted to build it on the surface, but this year they finally came up with the option of creating a shallow station. It will be made the same as others on the site - “Lianozovo” and “800th Anniversary of Moscow Street”.
According to him, the 2,480-meter long route to Phystech will pass underground. There is residential development in the area, and it will be easier for builders to go to a shallow depth than to lay paths on the surface.
In total, 484 people are working on the construction of three stations of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line. Most people are involved at Lianozovo - precisely due to the start of work on monolithic structures. Construction of the entire section of the light green line should be completed by the end of 2022.
