At the site opposite the Rizhsky station, excavation of the escalator tunnel of the future station of the Big Circle metro line begins. A Metrostroyevts correspondent saw the process of installing the TNU-4 block layer, which will be engaged in the construction of an inclined passage.
At site No. 11, specialists from SMU-6 began construction of an escalator tunnel. It will connect the western end of Rzhevskaya with the only underground vestibule of the station.
– Sinking of the inclined passage began on March 11. It will last a year. Four teams of eight people each work at the site around the clock,” said Denis Gusarov, head of section No. 7 of SMU-6, who is in charge of the excavation.
The descent to the station is being constructed using an inclined tunnel layer of the TNU-4 model. The complex mechanism was assembled by UMM specialists from February 4 to February 28.
“There is no more perfect machine today for the construction of inclined passages than the TNU-4,” Nikolai Khintsitsky, a mechanic at the UMM site, is convinced.
It was his team of eight experts in their field who were engaged in the installation of the tubing layer. Despite the winter period, the task was completed on time thanks to well-coordinated work.
The installation of the HPI was carried out together with the SMU-6 employees. The process was led by the head of section No. 3, Vladimir Kupryashkin, and the section mechanic, Anatoly Popkov. The installers built a foreshaft, on the half-rings of which a tubing layer was mounted. Before this, a site was prepared for freezing equipment.
Soil freezing at Rzhevskaya is carried out by SMU-9 specialists using calcium chloride. Before the start of excavation, the active phase was completed by pumping in 20 cubic meters of the composition. Now it's passive, when the temperature has been lowered.
Freezing will accompany the excavation of 60 meters, until the middle of the inclined passage. Rocks up to this cutoff are unstable, consist of sand and loam, and have quicksand. Next comes the hard clay and limestone. The total length of the inclined passage will be 118 meters, or 158 rings including temporary rings.
In parallel with the construction of the inclined passage, the construction of the enclosing structures of the pit for the vestibule continues. Most of the wall has already been built, the entire circuit is closed for the summer. The fences are erected by SMU-9 specialists using the “wall in soil” technology.
– When the block layer goes underground, the foreshaft will be dismantled and the upper tubes will be dismantled. The enclosing structures will be completely ready, and we will begin construction of the lobby,” Vladimir Kupryashkin shared his plans. In the meantime, its site, having completed preparations for excavation, is moving to Aviamotornaya.
The project at Rzhevskaya provides for only one exit, it will be located in the park on Rizhskaya Square. Through it, passengers will be able to get to the Rizhsky railway station and the existing underground passage under Mira Avenue. The Rzhevskaya lobby will be combined with the overall architectural design of the station. It will be made in the shape of an arch. This element will also be present in the design of the platform.
