On the last Sunday of the month, October 30, drivers and car enthusiasts celebrated the holiday. On this day, colleagues congratulated the well-deserved and beloved metro builder, Alexander Pukhov. Until his retirement, almost 50 years, he worked in the transportation system of subway construction. Two weeks did not reach the “gold” level professional anniversary.
Alexander Vasilyevich’s career began at the fourth motor depot of Mosmetrostroy, where, after graduating from the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers, he entered the position of mechanic. Soon, the responsible and hardworking young man was noticed and invited to the Main Directorate for the Construction of Tunnels and Subways of the Ministry of Transport Construction. He worked there for more than 15 years in various positions - from senior engineer to chief technologist. Purposefulness, exactingness towards himself and others ensured him respect among his colleagues and a confident climb up the career ladder. Those who worked with Pukhov note and appreciate his ability to listen to people and give wise advice.
“He was always distinguished by his calmness and peacefulness, politeness, even if he saw mistakes made by his colleagues,” shared the driver of Mosmetrostroy JSC Petros Agadzhanyan, who worked side by side with Alexander Vasilyevich for 25 years. — Pukhov is a wonderful boss. If you create a book about him, then one may not be enough to describe his personality.
The Moscow Metrostroy does not let go of those who once connected their lives with it. Therefore, from Glavtonnelmetrostroy in 1995, Alexander Pukhov returned to his native motor depot, where his career began, but already to the position of deputy head of the department. Alexander Vasilyevich had all the organization’s transport in his hands: two motor depots and about a thousand units of freight and passenger transport. He was strict about fulfilling the set standards and planned the volume of transportation by trucks.
“A car is, first of all, a high-risk vehicle, so I always made sure that the safety rules for working on the line were followed,” says Pukhov.
Over time, the vehicle fleets were abolished, freight transport was transferred to the ownership of contractors, and Alexander Vasilyevich remained in charge of the transport of the main building of the Department on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, but did not change the principles of his work. Until the last working day, he solved the assigned tasks promptly and clearly.
In the summer of 2022, Alexander Pukhov retired. But his life is still closely connected with cars. In his free time from household and dacha troubles, Alexander Vasilyevich helps his son, who followed in his father’s footsteps: Pukhov Jr. has his own transport business.
