Kuvichko family: to work with love

Today’s heroes of the “Life’s Work” column are a married couple – Danil and Taisiya Kuvichko. They have been together for almost three decades. And a little more - at a construction site, without which they can no longer imagine their life.

Now Danil Valerianovich and Taisiya Yakovlevna work together at SMU-6. True, recently in different shifts, both at work and at home, where special care for my grandmother is required. For the first time in more than a quarter of a century, both Kuvichkos broke the tradition of working together: Taisiya produces material, and her husband Danil detonates charges underground. This is how the Rizhskaya station of the Big Circle Line is currently being built. Where large equipment is powerless, the rock is dealt with using drilling and blasting.

– The biggest difficulty is blasting large faces. You have to place a lot of charges and be much more careful when choosing points. But this is only at the beginning; now experience speaks to me. The eye of a specialist will quickly identify all the points so that the explosion takes place according to all the rules. The technology of these works has not changed over the years, explains Danil Valerianovich.

Feelings do not change over the years - the married couple admits that they never get bored together. They live in perfect harmony. They claim that they have been together for so many years - both at home and at work, but there is not even a hint of fatigue, which other people may complain about. It is not difficult to work side by side, in one shift.

“Danger does not increase the degree of relations,” notes Taisiya Yakovlevna. – The main thing is responsibility, and we always performed the work according to all the rules and instructions. No family relationships are taken into account here. I give out the material according to the voucher, and Danil goes down to the depths and undermines it. Trust here is primarily professional.

“And also cold calculation,” adds the head of the family.

“Although deep down I always worry about my loved one,” Taisiya Yakovlevna admits in the middle of the conversation. – After all, I give out dangerous material, which then leads to an explosion underground.

Taisiya Kuvichko says that it was scary once upon a time - at first. Over the years, confidence and experience came, and good preparation dispelled almost all fears.

Both Kuvickos admit that they had good teachers. Danil Valerianovich at one time followed in his father’s footsteps. He was a bomber in the north.

– At SMU-5, my father worked as chief safety engineer. This can be called heredity - to come to Mosmetrostroy. My mother was also a builder, and later she became a drawing teacher,” recalls Danil Kuvichko.

Taisiya Yakovlevna also speaks warmly about her father-in-law. After all, it was the elder Kuvichko who at one time blessed the couple to live together.

– My father-in-law worked for many years at Mosmetrostroy. I can praise him as a very talented mentor. And when we met Danil, he really liked me. He reacted kindly to our friendship, and then he wanted to see me as his son’s bride. I received my construction blessing from him,” Taisiya Yakovlevna smiles.

Before meeting her husband, she worked at Mosmetrostroy for almost nine years - since 1984. Then SMU-5, where young Taisiya came to work, took part in the creation of the Borovitskaya station.

– I was accepted as a site technician, under the supervision of Efim Gerber. Later she became a worker and completed a crane operator course, after which she was a gantry crane operator for some time,” she recalls.

Danil Valerianovich came to Mosmetrostroy after graduating from college on August 31, 1987. He worked as a welder at the Chekhovskaya crossing. After that there was the Kurskaya station, the Kaluzhskoye depot, and later the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya station, where he met his wife. They joked that the two of them went into the slaughter. Danil worked in the mine, and Taisiya and her colleagues were called to restore beauty before the station was commissioned. Washed and cleaned the tiles.

“Danil came up to me, apparently he liked me,” she continues. – I remember this moment: I always had badges hanging on my overalls. That time there was a Spartak badge. I gave it to many who asked. And she refused him. Since then we began to communicate. We joke that instead of a badge I gave myself as a gift. This is much better. As a result, they got married in 1993.

They received access to drilling and blasting operations after the wedding, and they never changed their choice. The dear SMU-5 remained so even in the most difficult times, when many left, but Kuvichko remained.

– They were so faithful! - both exclaim. – The collapse of SMU-5 was a tragedy for us. Then we moved to SMU-6, where we were invited by the head of the blast and blast control department, Yuri Danko. He praised the dedication to the profession. Moreover, the selection has always been strict: both in the 1990s and now. And the work experience should not be less than 2-3 years in Mosmetrostroy.

Those who go to the drilling and blasting department have all their relatives checked so that no one has any violations. Each time, when going on a mission, the distributors and blasters sign a paper about responsibility.

Spouses do not work every day. Both Kuvichkos have their own schedules - drilling and blasting work is not a construction site routine.

The couple also has two children. Their first child was born in 1994, followed by their second son five years later. However, in adulthood they did not follow in their parents' footsteps. A dangerous business requires special skill.
