At the age of 67, Vladimir Isaikin’s life was cut short. Everyone who knew him, especially his friends, was taken by surprise by this sad news. It would seem that there were no signs. All his life he was an example of optimism, life-giving energy and universal responsiveness. But a massive heart attack left no chance.

Vladimir Vasilyevich was born in Novomoskovsk, Tula region on June 3, 1956 in a family of hereditary miners. He spent his childhood and youth in Tula, where in 1973 he entered the Polytechnic Institute at the department of construction of underground structures. His production life began back in his student years, when Vladimir had an internship in the mines of the Tula special department of Soyuzshakhtospetspromstroy and SMP-121 of Kharkovmetrostroy. Here he received the qualification of the fourth category of miner.

After graduating from the institute in 1978, Isaikin made his main choice - the choice of a professional path. Then, as indeed now, our capital attracted active youth, and the famous Mosmetrostroy, which in the early 1970s again became the All-Union Komsomol shock construction site, was the main attractive factor for a young specialist in mining work.

Vladimir Vasilyevich moved to Moscow to build a new life, and became on a par with the heroic pioneers of the capital's metro. He was accepted as a foreman at SMU-3 of Metrostroy. His first project in the construction of the capital’s metro is the distillation tunnels under the Serp and Molot plant from Ilyich Square to Aviamotornaya. To build firmly, reliably and safely - the principles that even then, imbued with the spirit of metro construction, he laid as the basis of his professional credo.

A young, smiling foreman with mining experience stood out at the construction site with clear, competent actions, was not afraid to take responsibility, and worked scrupulously with documentation. The management saw its potential in time. In 1980, Vladimir Isaykin was transferred to the Mosmetrostroy Department to the position of senior engineer of the safety department. Vladimir Vasilyevich thoroughly studied the provisions and instructions, mastered the teaching materials; not only knew how to investigate an accident with the least damage, but also tried to prevent it at a construction site. He had good mentors in the persons of Alexey Yatskov, Yuri Svyatukhin, Nikolai Adadurov and Viktor Taldykin. Thanks to his persistent character and desire for knowledge, during these years he became a highly qualified specialist.

In 1993, Vladimir Isaikin became the head of the department. In his new position, he also showed activity and gained great authority in the team, in the supervisory authorities of Moscow and in many other organizations. Vladimir Vasilyevich developed new instructions on occupational health and safety, a methodology for certifying workplaces with the involvement of state technical inspectors. And his idea of holding a labor safety review-competition at Metrostroy for the best team among the tunneling sections was enthusiastically accepted and approved by the legendary head of Mosmetrostroy, Yuri Koshelev. As before, Isaikin remained open to colleagues and builders on the line, with whom he generously shared his knowledge.

In 2011, Vladimir Vasilyevich was appointed to the position of deputy chief engineer of Mosmetrostroy with the same functions: organizing labor protection and safety at metro construction sites. In the service headed by Isaikin, each division of the company found methodological support and specific assistance both in preventive work and in the investigation of industrial accidents. It was here, in extreme conditions, that his high professional skills and organizational abilities were fully demonstrated. His advice, guidance and direction meant a lot! Often they solved not only health issues, but also people’s lives.

A new stage of his life began in 2015 - Vladimir Vasilyevich was invited to the position of deputy chief engineer of SMU-8 Metrostroy. Possessing a wealth of experience and indefatigable energy, Vladimir Vasilyevich continued to complete the tasks at hand - both successfully and in a timely manner. One of the last stations that he supervised in his direction was “Savelovskaya” of the Big Circle Line. They respected him, listened to him, knew that no one would see the flaws in the organization of labor protection better than him, and expressed gratitude for his informal but conscientious attitude towards his work and sincere respect for his comrades.

In 2019, Vladimir Isaikin retired to fulfill another big dream of his - to build a house on the banks of the Oka with his sons Alexei and Konstantin. And he built a house! Like everything he did in his life, with love and thoroughly.

Vladimir Vasilyevich was a versatile person, he was fond of cooking, and hunted ducks and pheasants. And probably everyone in Metrostroy knows what kind of fisherman he was. Since the 1990s, almost every year he went fishing with a company of metro construction workers to the island of Shambay near Astrakhan and then happily shared his catch and vivid impressions with his colleagues. And he also loved long journeys across Russia - to the Turukhansky region, to Bolshaya Podkamennaya Tunguska, to Kamchatka.

Until his last days, he never ceased to be interested in the life of the Moscow Metro. After all, his son Alexey and friends work here. People often turned to him for advice in solving difficult production problems, and he himself was willing to get involved.

Vladimir Isaikin was a caring family man, loving husband and father. A cheerful and bright person. And his memory will remain eternal!
