Mosmetrostroy veteran Anatoly Adadurov gave a lecture on April 14 on the construction of the metro. The meeting took place in the demonstration pavilion of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) on the square of the Kievsky railway station. More than forty people came to listen to the expert.
Before the performance, a video about the history of the creation of Mosmetrostroy was shown on the screen. Then Anatoly Nikolaevich spoke in detail about the prerequisites for the construction of the metro in the capital, the approval of the first stage project and the influence of Moscow geology on the choice of technologies for the construction of underground palaces.
The topic of various excavation methods – both previously used and modern ones – aroused particular interest among the audience. The lecturer was asked to tell more about the caisson method and the difficulties associated with it during the work of miners, about contour freezing and the most striking cases when it was necessary to deal with water breaking into the face. The topic of further development of the capital's subway did not go unnoticed. The veteran was literally bombarded with questions. For all those present, Anatoly Nikolaevich held a small competition on the topic of metro construction. The most savvy received memorable prizes from Mosmetrostroy.
The veteran’s performance ended with loud applause from all participants. Many of those present expressed the hope that similar lectures will be held in the future.
