Knowledge is gold. technical school helps improve skills

On March 28, a Metrostroyevets correspondent went to the Mosmetrostroy Technical School to find out how new professional knowledge will help a builder increase his salary.

The school was opened 74 years ago to train first-class underground builders and improve the qualifications of engineering and technical workers (E&T). Modern teachers follow this mission. “Before 2014, we had only seven areas of study, now there are 75,” says the director of the Technical School, Sergei Khodakovsky. — Today we are the only ones teaching underground professions in Moscow. Why come to a technical school, the director answers simply: if a builder receives an additional specialty, he can qualify for a salary increase. In addition, technology does not stand still - workers need to improve their knowledge. The school teaches labor protection and fire safety rules, and no one has yet canceled fines for violating them. It is profitable for SMU to send employees to courses, says Khodakovsky. It is cheaper to improve the qualifications of builders than to pay after inspections.

HOW THE TRAINING IS DONE

Lectures begin when 15 people sign up for the group. It is not profitable to train fewer people. All programs are developed by school methodologists - former employees of Mosmetrostroy. They have worked in construction all their lives and do not teach from books. “Classes are held in person, during the daytime,” continues Sergei Khodakovsky. – The slingers are giving a lecture right now. In class No. 8, the chief methodologist of the Technical School, Alexander Chepelevich, stands at the blackboard with an orange helmet in his hands. At the desks are men in their 30s. – What do you see on the helmet? – Chepelevich asks the class. “Scratches and dents,” one of the listeners answers him. - Right! Without a helmet, those dents would be on your head. Always put it on before work, the methodologist advises the students. – When working with reinforcement, do not forget about glasses. If iron filings get into the eye, they will be pulled in. To remove the shavings, you will have to remove the lens. When students have listened to the entire course of lectures, they will be sent to consolidate the material. They apply new knowledge “without leaving the cash register” - at their work sites. To receive a certificate, students undergo testing.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST

The cost of training at the Technical School is affordable. The cheapest course costs 900 rubles, the most expensive – 12,000 rubles. – We attract not only Mosmetrostroy organizations, but also other companies. That’s why we made the courses accessible,” explains the director. – The more third-party organizations send employees to the Technical School, the cheaper the training becomes for Mosmetrostroy. We give discounts to our SMUs.

HOW TO DO

A construction worker can enroll in the Technical School through SMU. Then the organization pays for his training. During the lectures, the listener is entitled to an average salary, so his attendance will be strictly monitored. If a person submits documents himself, then he will have to pay out of his own pocket. Those who study at their own expense come to courses during inter-shift periods: they work for two weeks and listen to lectures for the same amount of time. You can view the programs on the official websites of Mosmetrostroy (metrostroy.com) and Technical School (ts-mm.com).
