Future passengers rated Seligerskaya

On October 10, the most curious citizens inspected the Seligerskaya metro station under construction. It will open very soon - the work is 85 percent complete. Future passengers put on helmets and descended into the new underground palace along with the metro builders.

Two dozen townspeople carefully descend into the passage to the sound of jackhammers and the trill of circulars. They are led to the Seligerskaya station by the deputy chief engineer of Metrostroy Tunnel Squad No. 6 LLC, Alexander Medintsev. It’s easy to spot him among the sightseers: he’s wearing burgundy overalls, high boots and a signature Mosmetrostroy helmet. Every few minutes Medintsev stops the group so residents can take photos.

The walls inside the passage are already tiled, and the floor is laid with light granite. True, instead of chandeliers, the path to the station is illuminated by a long garland of light bulbs. Smells like dust and welding.

- Shall we ride in the cage? – asks the tour guide, Muscovite Marianna Garmash.

“This is a shallow station,” Alexander shrugs. - Let's take the stairs. And don't forget to watch your step!

The decoration of the Seligerskaya lobby is almost complete, and modern escalators have been installed. The only things missing are turnstiles, ticket offices and train noise. Having descended to the station, the townspeople disperse throughout the platform, the clicks of camera shutters echoing. The walls of Seligerskaya, according to the design decision, are made in light colors. The high arch is supported by dozens of strict columns.

“Not the Stalinist Empire style, of course, but I like it,” shares excursionist Yulia Vasilyeva during a break between photo shoots.

After inspecting the platform, the group descends onto the tracks. The most interesting thing, of course, is in the tunnels through which the trains are about to travel.

“The rails are laid carefully,” adds Medintsev. “They are delivered to the station in parts, then welded in dead ends, ground and cleaned to a shine. As a result, the train does not knock when it travels, but flies smoothly along the rails. We work conscientiously.
