The main event of this summer for the builders of the Rzhevskaya station of the Big Circle Line is access to that part of the underground space that, after launch, will become available to passengers. Everything here will be brought back into a civilized form: the drips and slush will be removed, the walls and vault will be improved with decoration. But the height of the rooms formed underground is already noticeable.
– We have completely passed the approach workings. Now let's move forward in the main. These are two approach corridors, they are vaulted, the diameter of the first is 11.5 m, the second is 10.5 m,” says Sergei Sleptsov, head of the 4th section of SMU-6.
In the future, the corridors will connect three passenger walkways. From the smaller one they will go to the staircases leading to the Rizhskaya platform. From the larger one they will begin to build an escalator tunnel with access to Rzhevskaya.
The ITC-120 roadheader looked quite proportionate in the adit it passed through. But then the development of spacious and, most importantly, high corridors began.
“We have never had to deal with such dimensions of an excavation,” admits Sleptsov. “Besides, here there is strong limestone running along the tray and arch. It would be difficult to pass through it with hammers, but such geological conditions are quite suitable for a combine. He copes with the core of the face normally, and then with his own bucket he makes the filling and then processes the roof from it.
The tubing lining is installed here using winches. The operation has long been known to everyone, but the local diameters require a special approach.
“Even the experienced tunnelers who worked at Fonvizinskaya and Verkhniye Likhobory only decided by about the tenth semicircle who would be where during the installation and what would be responsible,” says the site manager. - Now everything is going normally.
