Finish line of the eastern vestibule
At the Kashirskaya cross-platform station, active work is underway on the construction of the eastern vestibule, which will lead passengers to the Kolomenskoye museum-reserve, shopping arcades and a stop for ground urban passenger transport. The Metrostroevets correspondent looked behind the closed door and found out at what stage the finishing of the lobby was at.
From the previous lobby, built in 1969, only the walls and ceilings remain. Passengers will be greeted by a completely renovated lobby with new decoration and utilities. In addition, it will become much wider. A block of technical rooms with equipment for the uninterrupted operation of air conditioning, lighting, fire protection systems, and electronic devices has been added. It was added to the side of the entrance group instead of a canopy with columns.
Despite numerous technical changes, the vestibule has retained its appearance close to the original, and historical tiles remain above both inclined passages leading to the platforms.
Architectural work is 85% complete. At the same time, the pedestrian zone is 98% ready, and the area of the technical block of premises is 90%.
–Almost everything that the passenger sees has been done: the ceiling is covered with gypsum plaster, the walls are decorated with Petrovsky marble, and the base with Shimanov granite and porcelain tiles, –says the head of the section, Alexander Burykin from the USR.
Work on the installation of reinforced concrete structures for ventilation ducts and a block of technical rooms has been completed, and the installation of five main ventilation machines has been completed. The installation of cable and wire products, new pipelines, air ducts and other equipment continues.
Work on the lobby began in April last year, almost immediately after the launch of Kashirskaya. Now at the site there are builders from USR and SMU-24, to whom the baton of SMU-1 and Tunnel-2001 was passed. The latter completely removed the roof and poured a new one, carried out insulation and waterproofing.
The renovated lobby will welcome its first passengers this year.
