The pit on Sokolnicheskaya Square, where site No. 8 is located, is now covered from snow and frost by greenhouses. Inside, construction is in full swing for the future station of the Big Circle Line “Sokolniki” (project name – “Stromynka”). Concrete work on the construction of the main monolithic structures of the platform section has already been completed. Ahead is the construction of lobbies, installation of engineering systems and equipment, as well as architectural finishing.

– Currently, more than 400 people work at the station. These are employees of six organizations of Mosmetrostroy - SMU-12, SMU-1, SMU-24, TO-6, USR and Stroymekhservice,” said Evgeniy Satyshev, deputy chief engineer of SMU-12. – We are carrying out excavation work at future exits from the station, and at the same time we are erecting a monolith on vestibules No. 1 and No. 2.

Work on the second exit began in December, and on the first – in the second half of February. Here, Stroymekhservice specialists are installing enclosing structures adjacent to the Sokolniki station on the Sokolnicheskaya metro line. Most people, of course, are involved in underground work. At the station itself, floors, columns and balconies are being lined by USR.

– The new Sokolniki station is located between Rizhskaya and Elektrozavodskaya of the Big Circle Line, which opened last year. Capital mining work in the tunnels is being completed, excavation and installation of internal structures of tunnel structures, as well as waterproofing work are underway, Satyshev said.

SMU-12 and TO-6 brigades are involved in these areas. Their main task for the coming months remains laying the rigid base and superstructure of the track.

BTW

Sokolniki BKL will allow Muscovites to conveniently get to their favorite park, and the station will provide residents of the area with a dozen new routes. The design of the Sokolniki platform will resemble an autumn forest - red, white and gray colors will predominate here. The design of the station was chosen during the International Architectural Competition.

It will be possible to imitate the play of sunlight using lamps. The ceilings in the ticket hall and on the platform will be made of aluminum. Light gray and dark gray granite is laid on the floor. The columns on the platform are faced with white marble.
