The hot pre-launch time has come at "Kakhovskaya". Metro workers are left with the finishing touches. Very soon the updated station will open its doors to passengers.

The names have returned to the Kakhovskaya track walls
Work at Kakhovskaya is in full swing, from the entrances and lobbies to the station hall. Everything around is in motion, noisy, dusty, but now the station cannot be confused with any other. Names have returned to the track walls.
In addition, unique design elements of “Kakhovskaya” - metal panels with historical subjects - took their place. They were cleaned and polished by restoration specialists, giving them a fresh look.
– On the platform itself, the architectural cladding is almost complete. The lighting is almost ready,” said MMC International site manager Alexander Valakh. – Lamps have already been installed on the platforms and in the hall, and the installation of vertical lampshades to the full height of the grooves in the columns is also nearing completion.
The octagonal columns are lined with red-brown marble. Smoke removal fans are hidden in the wider black columns; in case of smoke, they will draw all the smoke from the platform. Externally, these columns can be recognized by the steel gratings on top. Inserts of black tiles were added to the track walls, on which the letters of the station name were placed.
In the center of the hall, builders are installing metal frames for a future “safety zone” with an influx of fresh air, where passengers can take refuge in the event of an emergency, fire or smoke.
“We are filling the ticket office of the lobby leading to the metro station from Chongarsky Boulevard with equipment,” continues Alexander Valakh. – The room for cashiers is small; reconstruction did not allow it to be expanded. But for the existing passenger flow here, this ticket office will be sufficient. The cladding of the lobby is almost complete. There are still some shortcomings that will be quickly corrected by USR specialists once they have completed all communications.
Brand new turnstiles also took their place in the lobby. And the main forces are now focused on repair work in the passage leading to Chongarsky Boulevard. It was given to metro construction workers only at the beginning of July; before that it was open to pedestrians. The builders have plans to update the cladding and exit pavilions in early autumn. New structures are already on the surface, into which stained glass windows are gradually being inserted.
Work in the tunnels is also nearing completion. The lining and superstructure of the track have been updated. What remains is the installation of several turnouts and a branch line at the Zamoskvoretskoye depot.
