The laboratory will soon receive doctors

The construction of the laboratory of the infectious diseases hospital in the settlement of Voronovskoye (TiNAO) has been completed. How the new building of the largest medical institution was created, where patients with coronavirus infection are being treated, was told by the leading engineer of the production department of Mosmetrostroy JSC Ivan Momot.

Last year, builders accomplished a real feat - in 35 days, the buildings of a modern infectious diseases hospital were erected in an open field, which during this time was equipped with all the necessary equipment. Almost immediately, cars with red numbers “03” brought those who were in dire need of highly qualified assistance.

The builders set a record a year later, commissioning a full-fledged laboratory for the hospital in Voronovsky. Initially it was planned that the capacity of the bacteriological laboratory would be much more modest. It was supposed to be an addition to the virus laboratory, which was introduced simultaneously with all buildings.

“Such a division was justified. If the viral nature of the disease is not found in a person, bacteriological studies of the material are necessary, explains Ivan Momot.

Design of the new building began in December last year. Mosmetrostroy was identified as the contractor for the project. The preparatory stage began in January. Fences, cabins and equipment were delivered to the allocated site, and a little later they began laying temporary power supplies.

“When we decided on the timing of supplies of materials, we developed a construction schedule,” he continues. – In February, the preparation of the foundation with a pre-laid underground part of the sewer system was already completed, and then in the winter the base of the future building was concreted.

After this, we had to take a break - the builders waited for the concrete to “set” and gain the necessary strength in the greenhouses. By March-April, metal structures specially manufactured for the laboratory began to be delivered to the site. In mid-spring, sandwich panels began to be attached to the assembled frame, and then windows and doors were installed.

“The next step was to go inside the building: we gradually divided the building into offices with partitions, and here the USR brigades joined us. SMU-24 laid communications in the partitions and on the technical floor they were preparing for the installation of the main ventilation equipment and other necessary internal engineering systems - Ivan Momot recalls the sequence. – In parallel, since February, SMU-25 specialists have been supplying utility networks to the facility: hot and cold water, sewerage, heating, electricity. The task was completed well, giving 100 percent!

Construction and installation work was completely completed over the summer. At the peak, when, after installing the building frame itself, it was necessary to mount the façade, carry out interior finishing and run communications, teams from several departments of Mosmetrostroy worked. In total, 120 people worked per shift. So, SMU-25 dealt with all types of networks. Specialists of SMU-24 - installation of internal engineering systems. Workers SMU-12 - main structures and facade. The USR teams were assigned to interior finishing.

Ivan Momot calls the main difficulty the long lead times for the production of materials and equipping equipment, which from the moment the application is formed affect the supply - Mosmetrostroy at the initial stage had to use its own resources to cover the needs of this operational construction.

Now the teams are waiting for the building and equipment to be connected to the power supply according to a permanent scheme. The final commissioning work depends on this. This is especially important for supply and exhaust ventilation. The laboratory itself is equipped with block bactericidal filters that will disinfect indoor air.

Two weeks are allotted for commissioning after applying constant voltage. Another contractor will arrange the medical equipment and carry out testing. Only after this will it be possible to say with confidence: the laboratory is ready for use by doctors.
