“Lefortovo” decorated with stone

At the end of March, finishing work on “Lefortovo” began. We tell you how the Big Circle Line station under construction is gradually taking on its appearance.

Section No. 1 of the USR operates on the first, second and third sections of Lefortovo simultaneously. 47 employees are engaged in tiling the passenger area. This is exactly the part of the station that will be visible to passengers.

“We laid the first stone on the floor on March 27,” says site manager Ivan Sopov. – In a month and a half, 1000 m² of the platform was already lined with light Siberian granite and black gabbro-diabase. In addition, both staircases are completely ready, as well as 204 m² of the approach corridor leading to the lobby.

In parallel, an aluminum frame is mounted on the track walls and ends of the station - a subsystem for granite slabs. They also work on the ceiling, which will be combined: it is prepared for the installation of guides under the slats and panels.

Lefortovo station is planned to open in 2019 as part of the first stage of the northeastern section of the Big Circle Line.
