On guard of security

The series of anniversaries this year continues. Thus, in 2022, the Mine Industrial Sanitary Laboratory of Mosmetrostroy (SHPSL) turned 45 years old. Together with the head of the ShPSL, Dmitry Razumov, we tell you how the unit lives today and how it helps our builders.

The mine industrial and sanitary laboratory was organized by order of the General Director of the Construction Department “Moscow Metrostroy” No. 248 dated January 7, 1977 on the basis of the Resolution of the CPSU Central Committee and the Council of Ministers of the USSR.

For the last twenty years, the laboratory has been based in the premises of the building at Staroobryadcheskaya Street, building No. 28 A, building 1. Once upon a time, Metrostroyevskaya Avtobaza No. 3 was located here, as evidenced by the forged inscriptions on the entrance gates.

AREAS OF ACTIVITY OF THE LABORATORY

The laboratory is designed to monitor the working conditions of Mosmetrostroy workers at construction and industrial sites and assess the impact of these facilities on the environment. The need to perform these tasks determines the structure of the ShPSL, which includes the following areas of laboratory activity:

Each area of analytical work is carried out by a corresponding group of highly qualified specialists on the basis of regulatory and methodological documentation. Each group and the laboratory as a whole are equipped with modern equipment capable of performing measurements and analyzes with minimal errors. This makes it possible to timely detect anomalous zones of pollution of both natural and anthropogenic nature on the objects being surveyed.

The technical equipment of the laboratory and the provision of regulatory and methodological documentation, the qualifications of employees and the organization of analytical work meet the high criteria and requirements of domestic and international standards.

The laboratory has been accredited since 2003 and is currently included in the register of accredited legal entities under number RA.RU.21AG44 dated June 26, 2015 in the national accreditation system of the Russian Federation (Federal Accreditation Service (Rosaccreditation)).

The laboratory was admitted in 2007 to the Association of Analytical Centers of the Russian Federation (AAC “Analytics”), which unites the most qualified laboratory centers and laboratories in our country.

ACCIDENT-FREE PERFORMANCE OF WORK

The activities of the laboratory make it possible to safely carry out work at the facilities of Mosmetrostroy JSC; it is worth recalling only the facilities where abnormal contamination zones were promptly discovered, which could lead to emergency situations:

In the main fan installations of mines No. 942, No. 948, laboratory specialists promptly discovered technical defects in the operation of the fans, which helped prevent accidents during the operation of faulty equipment and emergency situations due to failure of the ventilation systems.

In order to ensure control over the development of processes in hazardous areas and to prevent emergency situations, laboratory workers provided round-the-clock monitoring of working conditions and assessment of the impact of construction projects on the environment during construction and installation work in hazardous areas.

Laboratory specialists carry out inspections of objects and provide subsidiaries of Mosmetrostroy JSC with protocols with the results of analyzes and measurements:

The mine industrial and sanitary laboratory ensured the introduction into the production practice of Mosmetrostroy JSC of technology for local freezing of rocks using “dry ice” (frozen carbon dioxide ice) in underground work.

The achieved production potential of the laboratory allows us to continue to carry out tasks to support the activities of the Moscow Metro Construction in the most dangerous and difficult conditions of underground construction.

The laboratory currently has 18 people on staff. Many of them gave the company most of their work experience. Over the years, the team has developed its own traditions, characteristic of all divisions of Mosmetrostroy. Mutual understanding reigns here. The employees always support each other and come to the rescue.
