Seven meters left to go

The “Aviamotornaya” of the Big Circle Line (BKL) opened for passengers in March 2020 and temporarily became part of the Nekrasovskaya Line. At the moment, the station can handle passenger traffic of up to 39 thousand people per day, who are still making the transition to the Kalininskaya line along the street. An MS correspondent tells how builders are connecting two metro lines.

— The station is beautiful. “It’s made in a modern style,” shared Alexander, a passenger on the Aviamotornaya. “With its opening, it has become easier to get to work. I'm really looking forward to my transplant. It is inconvenient to get up and walk on the ground.

Work on the construction of the transition from the Big Circle to the Radial is now in full swing and, according to the plan, will be completed by December of this year. The excavation is carried out by SMU1 specialists under the leadership of the head of section No. 4, Alexey Grigoriev. Every day 40-45 people work a shift. In the future, they will be joined by USR and SMU-24.

To the excavation site, metro construction workers descend into cages through a 56-meter-deep shaft left after the construction of the first Aviamotornaya. The area below is filled with the sound of water, which is abundant here. It enters the mine from all faces, is pumped into the drainage installation by two K-100 pumps and fed upward into the drainage basin, and then discharged into the sewer.

The finishing has not yet begun, but the outlines of the future transplant are already visible. Two passages with a cross section of 4.4 meters open into waste corridor No. 1 with a diameter of 9.5 meters. They lead to exit corridor No. 2, through which passengers will transfer to the Kalininskaya Line. Its development is carried out at a slope to get into the horizon of the radial station. To connect with it, you have to walk seven meters.

In the first corridor, the main mining work has been completed. Now the installation of metal insulation is underway, control injection of mortar for the lining and embossing work are underway.

Passengers leaving the Kalininskaya Line will enter the first corridor through walkways. Then, through a tension chamber with a cross-section of 11.5 meters, to the inclined passage, where reinforcement of monolithic supports for escalators is currently underway. Passengers will ascend along them to the passage to the new station. Now there is a pit in which the lobby will be located.

Also, to facilitate access for local residents to the Aviamotornaya station of the Big Circle Line, a pedestrian crossing is being built under the Kazan direction railway tracks. From it you will be able to get to lobby No. 2 and the transfer station under construction. SMU-12 workers are working on its construction. They perform soil cementation. By the end of the month, the site will be handed over to SMU-1 to complete the alignment of the last 14 rings.

The first project of the new Aviamotornaya appeared in 1985. The station was planned to be built at great depth as part of the Kozhukhovskaya (from 2018 - Nekrasovskaya) line. Since then, plans have changed several times. Very soon, the columned three-span station, built at a depth of 19.5 meters, will become part of the Big Circle.
