Elektrozavodskaya station of the Big Circle Line (BKL) opened on December 31, 2020. From this moment on, passengers had to use a ground transfer from the BCL to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. But soon their path will become easier and shorter. The construction of the transfer has reached the home stretch.
Builders enter the underground passage between Elektrozavodskaya Bolshaya Ring and Radial through the emergency exit on Semenovskaya embankment. Section No. 8 of TO-6 operates here.
Part of the platform and the pedestrian gallery of the existing station have been taken out of service. This route brings construction workers and the necessary equipment to the future transfer.
There is a banner hanging on the wall of the pedestrian gallery. It hides temporary barriers. When they are removed, visitors from the gallery will be transferred. The 10-meter-long escalators will lead to two walkways, which will then be connected by a single tunnel with a diameter of 9.5 meters. Going further down the small staircase, Muscovites and guests of the capital will find themselves at the end of the Elektrozavodskaya radial.
The station's 1944 brick wall was dismantled to accommodate the interchange. In the upper part there is a bas-relief depicting banners. Once upon a time, in its center there was a medallion with Stalin’s profile. The profile was removed after the cult of personality was debunked. Now part of the bas-relief is closed, part is taken for restoration. It is handled by a specialized organization.
Since the station is a monument of Russian cultural heritage, the work was approved by the Moskomarkhitektura.
Passengers will also be greeted by a bas-relief on the reverse side. It will be made in the style of the old station.
The main work on the transfer has already been completed. The excavation has been completed, hydro and metal insulation has been done, and the metal structures are prepared for cladding.
The excavation was carried out using special methods with cementation due to water-saturated horizons.
- This is a difficult area. It is sandwiched between a residential area, Russian Railways, a river and two operating metro stations,” explained Konstantin Sysoev, deputy chief engineer of TO-6.
Now the Department of Special Works (USR) is finishing the work, and SMU-24 specialists are laying utilities. USR also began installing a subsystem for drainage umbrellas.
In the open part, the monolith is laid in the elevator shaft and backfilling is carried out, the expansion pit fastenings are dismantled and monolithic work is carried out on the construction of an elevator shaft for passengers with limited mobility.
Ventilation kiosks have been installed: one of them is for the station, the rest (in the same style) are for the intercepting parking lot being built nearby. It will become the first underground structure belonging to the Moscow Parking Space.
The parking lot is designed for 64 parking spaces, 10% of which are discounted, and two are equipped for the needs of electric cars.
It is equipped with modern security and fire safety systems and loudspeaker notification. The equipment has already been installed and commissioning is underway. After completion of the work, Tunnel-2001 will carry out landscaping and landscaping of the area.
