On the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the capital’s metro, the stations between Avtozavodskaya and Orekhovo have been closed since November 12. This decision is due to the need to carry out repair and restoration work on the Tsaritsyno - Kantemirovskaya section. At all five stations where traffic was suspended due to the lack of dead-end traffic, the infrastructure will be updated.

In six months, Mosmetrostroy will have to develop a foundation pit using the “wall in soil” method. Through it, the cast iron lining of the tunnel will be dismantled and new elements will be installed. The length of the emergency section will be 120 meters on the stretch from Tsaritsyno to Kantemirovskaya. Construction work will take place at a depth of 15-16 meters around the clock.
We plan to search over 90 rings in both tunnels. After the main construction work has been completed, a “concrete jacket” will be constructed on the outside of the tunnel, which will allow further avoidance of deformation and subsidence. Then we will backfill the pit and improve the surrounding area with the restoration of green spaces, sports grounds and small architectural forms,” Sergei Zhukov, General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC, told reporters.
The distillation tunnels between Tsaritsyno and Orekhovo pass in close proximity to the Tsaritsyno ponds. The passage through the tunnel was opened on December 30, 1984, but the very next day it had to be closed for more than a month due to the need to carry out restoration work - the waterproofing was damaged. History repeated itself in 2003, and then in 2014 - flooding of the section from Tsaritsyno to Kantemirovskaya was recorded. The situation has now reached the stage where it is necessary to act immediately. If we compare the capital’s transport frame with the circulatory system, we are talking about an emergency “bypass” operation for vital indications.
During the restrictions, the infrastructure at closed stations will be updated: we will lay vibration-absorbing blocks and seamless track, which will make travel on this section of the Zamoskvoretskaya Line quieter and more comfortable. A set of works is planned at electrical substations, which will increase the reliability of the power supply in this area, and we will also repair track walls at a number of stations,” noted First Deputy Head of the Metro Dmitry Doshchatov.
To transport passengers living, studying and working at the stations “Kantemirovskaya”, “Tsaritsyno”, “Technopark”, “Kolomenskaya” and “Kashirskaya”, special class buses have been allocated, which will run along the closed section along a specially organized lane. However, the metro is still much more spacious, so alternative routes have been proposed - through the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya and Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya lines, MCC, MCD-2 and the Paveletskoye direction of the Moscow Railway. Compensatory ground transportation and re-entry into the metro after a bus ride are free.
