Veteran footballers remembered their childhood

In the post-war period, the Metrostroy football club, created in 1935, was famous in Moscow. Twice FC Metrostroy became the champion of Moscow among youth club teams, said club veterans who visited Tsvetnoy Boulevard.

The football players trained at their own stadium in the Presnya area, which was called “Metrostroy”. Training continued in the winter: the football field was turned into a skating rink and bandy was played.

“This is an important part of our childhood,” recalls former FC Metrostroy striker Sergei Pylnov. – The club’s students later played in CSKA, Dynamo, Lokomotiv, Spartak and other major league teams.

At a meeting with the General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC Sergei Zhukov, veteran football players asked to revive the children's football section as part of the Metrostroy sports club, and also, if possible, return the stadium on Presnya to its previous name and owner.

HISTORY OF THE METROSTROY FOOTBALL CLUB

As a child, and later, as soon as you heard the famous musical introduction when the players entered the football field, they dropped everything.

Football was everywhere - in stadiums, in courtyards, on the streets, on the outskirts of populated areas.

Everyone played too: both old and young. On Mondays, in the working smoking rooms and interfloor areas of Soviet institutions, “there was a lot of bloodshed.” FOOTBALL.

But times have changed. Football has also changed. It has become more collective, more entertaining, more financial, more professional and has shifted to guarded stadiums and closed fields.

Courtyards and playgrounds have become almost silent; in small towns and regional centers, stadiums have been adapted for Sunday fairs; there is silence in departmental stadiums of factories, organizations and institutions. And the stadiums themselves have become private owners - you can’t enter without face control. Surnames, first names, nicknames of famous players are also forgotten, or “...do you remember this one? Whom? Well, he hit it with his heel. Ah... yes, I remember."

Football was formed “in the courtyards”, then the most talented people enrolled in club sections and voluntary sports societies at the stadiums of enterprises and organizations. It was there that the “future stars” were forged.

The Metrostroy football club was once famous in Moscow.

The club was created around 1935 - the same age as the opening of the first metro station. Significant. And this despite the hard nature of the work of the metro construction workers, because the football was amateur.

The club became famous in Moscow in the post-war period. Since 1949, the club has participated in the RSFSR championship games and was a semi-finalist in the USSR Football Cup in the first zone of the draw. He was repeatedly the champion of Moscow among youth club teams.

Metrostroy students later played in CSKA, Dynamo, Lokomotiv, Spartak and other major league teams. They were members of the USSR national team, some played at the world championships.

In the list of “33 best football players in the country” once: in 1963 at No. 3 among forwards.

He played one match for the USSR Olympic team.

From Fadeev’s memoirs: “At first he was a street football star, then his neighbor Alik Komarov dragged him into the Metrostroy youth team.” The director of the school there was the CDKA stopper of the 30s and 40s, Konstantin Lyaskovsky, and we were trained by the children's coach Nil Stepanovich Gugnin, famous throughout Moscow, an amazing specialist and person. I made my debut, I remember, in a match with GPZ (Podshipnikovy Zavod), and immediately for the first youth team, since I came to organized football late. But in the first match he scored four goals.

After the 1958 USSR Championship, offers began pouring in among football schools - from Spartak, CSK Moscow Region, and Dynamo. I go to my coach, Konstantin Ivanovich Beskov, for advice. He immediately said: “Go to Dynamo.” They took about eight of us to watch. After the first match for the double team with “Admiralteyets”, the head of the team, Evgeniy Fokin, congratulated: “You are enrolled.”

Bogomolov Vladimir, master of sports of the USSR about Valery Kharlamov:

“From a young age, I played with him in the same trio. I remember everything well... On the day of a match, coach Vyacheslav Leonidovich Tazov brought Valera (Kharlamov) to us: “This guy will play here.” Well, it will be, it will be. As an “experienced” hockey player, I was indifferent to the event.

After Kharlamov, Lopin and I were brought together into one unit, we rarely parted. We couldn’t imagine our leisure time without sports. Either we go to the stadium, usually Dynamo, or we play football ourselves. In the summer, football completely replaced hockey.

Kharlamov trained with Nil Stepanovich Gugnin at Metrostroy, I trained at CSKA. I told him: “What kind of Metro are you running around?” Come join us. We'll be together." I brought a friend, but they didn’t take him. It's still a mystery to me. After all, he played great, especially in mini-football.”

No less famous are other major league players who come from Metrostroy - masters of sports German Apukhtin (three times included in the list of 33 best players), Vladimir Belousov, Boris Kochetov, Nikolay Palyska.

Spring has come. The opening of the football season is coming soon for our team.

Here are the veterans of FC Metrostroy from 1969-1980. They ask what are the team’s plans, what are the problems? Is support needed and are they remembered, who glorified Mosmetrostroy in sports arenas?

Football! So many emotions. The famous exclamation of one of the famous football commentators will be remembered forever: “... KICK!!! GO-O-L!??.... Barbell?!!!”
