Mikhail Arbuzov: I’m not firing anyone the first time
We continue the “Frankly speaking” section. Its heroes are employees of the Mosmetrostroy group of companies, who share their rules of life with readers. This time we talked with the first deputy general director of Mosmetrostroy JSC Mikhail Arbuzov. He told how he learned a certain rule from his grandfather and why he doesn’t feel fear.
- As a child, we lived with our family in a communal apartment on Krasnaya Presnya. For 70 people - one burner and two washbasins. Only at the age of 10 did I have my own room in the apartment, which my parents got.
- As a child, I rode a bicycle in the park on 1905 Street. I drove up to my grandmother, she refueled me with an apple. I ate it and moved on.
- My dad and I played football in the yard between two benches. He always won, and I cried. His grandmother and mother shouted at him that he was already big and could give in.
- Dad got tickets for private screenings at the cinema. I was a film buff. I knew how to buy a ticket for the first session and stay for all subsequent ones.
- After school I went to MIIT. When dividing specializations, I chose “Bridges”. But after the lectures of Sergeev, nicknamed Viscount, the tunnels became closer and clearer to me.
- For exams I always chose the road I took if I got a good mark.
- From the point of view of creating a future family, tunnels are Moscow, and bridges are business trips and shifts.
- Came to SMU-5 on December 14, 1981 at Efim Gerber’s station. They built the lobby at the Library named after. Lenin". Winter, the Kremlin, stars - a crazy view and interesting work.
- I received great pleasure from the reconstruction of the Vorobyovy Gory station. The almost family environment contributed to effective work. Since then, I consider lunches with colleagues necessary.
- I don’t feel fear in my life. If something has already happened, the situation must be corrected. Sometimes you can do everything possible, but the problem still cannot be solved. But even in this case, we must mobilize and move forward anyway.
- I don’t fire anyone the first time. I signed few such orders. I think punishment is a bad method; you can always talk. A normal person will understand.
- The most important motivation in work is conscience.
- I prefer to see artists in my team, not performers. Those who are able to independently solve assigned tasks, and not act according to what is written.
- I completely trust my wife in matters of rest.
- Unfortunately, work did not allow me to see how the older children grew up. He often came when they were already asleep. My youngest daughter is fifteen now, I see her growing up.
- I'm not a hunter, I couldn't shoot an animal - the conditions are not equal.
- Grandfather gave me one rule: never gamble with anyone, not even the government. That's why I don't buy lottery tickets.
- I would like to be a musician. Put on a beautiful suit and play in the Tchaikovsky Palace. But even at school, the music teacher asked dad not to let his son sing, otherwise he would spoil the whole choir.
- I don't care what car I drive. But there is a difference on what equipment you listen to music on. I collect vinyl records.
- My favorite hero in life is the Gadfly from the Voynich novel. He is very strong, like Pavka Korchagin. It’s hard, but he reluctantly moves forward.
