Sergey grimberg: you can't blame everything on the director
We continue the “Frankly speaking” section. Its heroes are employees of the Mosmetrostroy group of companies, who share their rules of life with readers. This time we talked with the General Director of SMU-25 Metrostroy LLC Sergei Grimberg. He told how he collected a collection of “mammoth bones” and what style of leadership he considers the best.
- Born in Genichesk in Ukraine. My grandmother lived there. I spent my childhood and youth in Gelendzhik.
- My parents are employees of the Research Institute of Yuzhmorgeology and Oceanophysics. Since childhood, he studied science with them, growing up among scientists and their families.
- I received basic knowledge of geology at the visiting school of Moscow State University. The internship took place in Azerbaijan and Crimea. Since then, a collection of finds has remained - various “mammoth bones”.
- As a child, he drew, learned to play the piano and violin, practiced boxing and karate, and was fond of sailing. But at the same time I was lazy and did my homework before classes.
- Laziness is a shortcoming that I have struggled with all my life, and it has brought results.
- Now there is little time for sports. Occasionally in the summer I take part in sailing regattas on the Pirogovskoye Reservoir. In winter, sometimes I snowboard – I didn’t see snow as a child and got on it as an adult.
- I dreamed of becoming a biologist, but became interested in programming, which determined my destiny. Graduated from the Southern Federal University with a degree in Automated Control Systems.
- I constantly educate myself, study any question that interests me.
- I developed my career as a specialist at Svyaztransneft OJSC.
- I have been involved in construction since 2005. The most interesting thing in Mosmetrostroy was the work on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line. All objects are my milestones in life.
- From different management styles, he formed his own - a strict but fair leader. A soft leadership style leads to sad consequences. But you can’t go too far either.
- If you want everyone to be at work on time, come early yourself. I try to stick to the schedule.
- I never interfere in the internal affairs of departments. Working with a person who doesn’t need to explain anything takes a lot of pressure off.
- Dependent employees are no help for the manager. You can’t put everything on the director. Without helpers you can go crazy.
- Confidence in one's own authority often prevents others from being heard.
- We don't need just a person controlling people with shovels. I always say that a foreman is a performer of work, a person with education.
- If the driver on duty or the security guard is sitting out his shift, then why not involve him in painting the fence?
- I wouldn't change anything in the past. Life is a chain of events, a story that does not tolerate subjunctive moods.
- A person always wants something more. But I prefer to make real plans.
- I do not rule out a radical change in activity if such a task is assigned.
- If I were president, I would follow the path of Singapore, letting business go free.
- Happiness is family, children, peace of mind. When it is quiet and not disturbed by work problems.
- I teach children to be self-critical and engage in introspection. In any situation, it is necessary that a person does not go ahead, but thinks first.
- If you move, then only to the sea. I miss Gelendzhik - this is childhood, the happiest time for every person.
