The station was built by the Moscow Metrostroy under the leadership of the first head, the legend of metro construction - Pavel Rotert (Soviet civil engineer, corresponding member of the Academy of Architecture of the USSR, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor) and named in honor of the October Revolution, famous for its impressive sculptures, powerful image gallery!

Their author is the no less legendary Matvey Manizer. The sculptor first created all the images in clay, in the workshop of the Academy of Arts in Leningrad, where life-size models of the station arches were built. And only then were the sculptures cast in bronze to be installed at the station in Moscow.

The wife of Hugo Manizer (the eldest son of Matvey Manizer), Nina Pulyakhina-Manizer, donated a unique publication about the artistic dynasty of Manizer to the Moscow Metrostroy Museum, from where we learned the incredible story of the creation of sculptures for the Revolution Square station.
